Elaine

Elayne- Pulmonary Fibrosis Patient

When Elaine was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, doctors told her she would be relying on medicine just to be able to breathe within ten years of her diagnosis. After learning more about pulmonary hypertension, Elayie believed there had to be something out there to help her.

Elaine's doctor told her about a clinical trial for pulmonary hypertension and she soon enrolled in one at S. Carolina Pharmaceutical Research. Upon enrolling in this study, Elaine was educated by the staff at S. Carolina about her disease and how she can better control it. "With the research center, you go once a month and have tests done to always see how your body is doing", said Elaine. The constant monitoring and personalized care at S. Carolina helped Elaine get her pulmonary hypertension under control and educated her more about the disease. "I have developed a very close relationship with my study coordinator and I can reach her on her cell phone whenever I need to. I have a much sunnier outlook on life since starting clinical trials."
